December 1, 1936 - April 23, 2022

Jake K. Goertzen, 85, of Inman, KS, peacefully passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2022, surrounded by family at the Moundridge Manor, Moundridge, KS. He was a farmer.

Jake was born on December 1, 1936, at Camp 45, Chihuahua, Mexico to Jacob H. and Lena (Koehn) Goertzen.  On September 25, 1960, Jake was united in marriage to Anne Louise Nikkel in Inman, KS. 

He was a member of Zion Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, Inman.

Survivors include: his wife, Anne; five children, Sandra (Leonard) Nightingale of Trumann, AR, Wanda (Chris) Koehn of Hume, MO, Luanne (Merle) Ensz of Inman, KS, Lance (Karlene) Goertzen of Inman, KS, and June (Brian) Schmidt of Trumann, AR; a foster daughter, Vonnie (Jamie) Cordell of Wichita, KS; 20 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings, Elizabeth Becker of Moundridge, KS, Cornelius (Verla) Goertzen of Mortons Gap, KY, Herman (Jewel) Goertzen of Inman, KS, and David (Jolene) Goertzen of Lakin, KS; sisters-in-law, Verna Goertzen of Barron, WI and Grace (Loren) Wiebe of Almena, WI; and brother-in-law, James (Susanna) Nikkel of Pipestone, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John Goertzen and Henry Goertzen; a sister, Justina Koehn; four infant siblings, Abe, William, Agnes, and Lena; great-grandchild, Blake Schmidt; and brother-in-law, Robert Nikkel.

The visitation will be held from 6:30p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 25, 2022, at Zion Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, Inman, KS.  The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m.AM, Tuesday, April 26, at Zion Church of God in Christ, Mennonite.  Burial will follow at the Zion Church Cemetery.
