New Cambria woman, 4 children hospitalized after crash

SALINE COUNTY—A Saline County woman and four children were injured in an accident just after 8 a.m. Monday in Saline County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2015 Chevy Impala driven by  Jessica L. Butler, 36, New Cambria, was eastbound on Old 40 Highway just west of Donmyer Road, 2.5 miles west of Solomon.

 The car traveled off the south edge of the roadway, struck a ditch embankment and came to rest after striking a fence along the railroad access.

EMS transported Butler and four children ages 10, 9, 5, and 4, all of New Cambria, to Salina Regional Health Center. The two younger children no apparent injuries. The 9-year-old was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.  The KHP did not have complete seat belt usage information.
