BENNINGTON - The final chapter of the Bennington Community Library may very well be written tonight.
In a post on its Facebook page this afternoon, the library announced that Wednesday night's board meeting might be the last for the library located at 300 N. Nelson Street in Bennington.
Following is the text of the post.
It is with a heavy heart that tonight may be the possible last board meeting for the Bennington Community Library and our doors will be shut after seven years of serving the community.
Two of our original board members that have given 110% percent are retiring from the board, leaving us shorthanded.
Efforts were made to recruit new members and have not proven fruitful.
Tonight's meeting will decide the fate of the library.
We want to thank ALL those who have supported us in the past with fundraising help, volunteering or just showing up.
We love you all and it's been a wonderful seven years!!!
