MARION COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 6p.m. Saturday in Marion County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2022 Lincoln Nautilus SUV driven by Ronald D. Ludwig, 92, Florence, was southbound on Nighthawk Road at U.S. 50 in Peabody. The driver did not yield at the stop sign. The SUV traveled into the intersection. An eastbound 2024 Freightliner Semi driven by Dennis E. Smith, 35, Nampa, Idaho, struck the SUV.
A passenger in the SUV identified as Dorothy F. Conyers was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Jost Funeral Home. EMS transported Ludwig to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The semi driver was not injured. All three were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
