Maryanne Elizabeth Webb, 86, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 17, 2022, surrounded by family at Pleasant Hills Care Home, Hutchinson, KS.  She was a homemaker and bookkeeper for Carol Winslow and KP&L. Maryanne finished her working career as an office manager for Mustang Mobile Park and Smokey’s Industries.

Maryanne was born on June 6, 1935, in McPherson, KS, the daughter of Lyndell Webster and Ina Josephine (Slabach) McDonald.  She attended Wickersham Elementary School, McPherson Jr. High and graduated from McPherson High School in 1953.  She also attended McPherson College and Hutchinson Community College studying business and accounting.

On September 3, 1954, Maryanne was united in marriage to Ronald “Ronnie” Dean Webb in McPherson, KS.  They were married for 60 years before his passing on January 25, 2015.

Maryanne committed her life to Christ at an early age and was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church.  She taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, was a member of the Ruth Heimer CWF group where she served many church dinners. Maryanne was the church librarian and treasurer for many years.  Her CWF group was the last activity she was able to attend outside of the home.

Maryanne was a member of Beta Omicron Epsilon Sorority as well as a member of EHU.  She and Ronnie enjoyed playing bridge, cutting up the dance floor and listening to live music.  Maryanne provided for her family with wonderful meals and desserts, sewing everything from curtains to swimsuits to Barbie doll clothes, crocheting afghans for family and friends and leading Blue Birds and Campfire groups as well as classroom room mother.  She was an avid reader switching to books on tape as her vision diminished. Maryanne enjoyed attending her children and grandkids concerts, school activities and attended high school girls and boys basketball games for many years with Ronnie.  Shopping was a huge joy of Maryanne’s life. Her family often had a hard time keeping up with her. They enjoyed trips to see family including Australia and Venezuela. Weekends during the summer were spent at their special place at Kanopolis lake where they were surrounded by a special group of lake friends.  Maryanne could be found with her book on the deck while Ronnie was out fishing, ending the day with a sunset cruise around the lake. All those fish that Ronnie caught were enjoyed by many at their annual 4th of July fish fry. In later years she loved watching the Food and Hallmark Channels, ending her day with The Golden Girls.
