Saint Francis Ministries has announced a signing ceremony to formalize its Otis Avenue campus to Salina Area Technical College.
This public event will take place on Friday, June 26 at 9:00 am in front of the St Francis administration building on 110 W. Otis Avenue.
Founded in 1887, the campus was originally the site of St. John’s Military School, which served students for more than 130 years.
Saint Francis Ministries assumed stewardship of the Otis campus after St. John’s closed in 2019 and shortly afterward relocated its Corporate administrative offices and Salina programming offices there.
"The continued use of this campus by mission-driven organizations reflects a shared commitment to ensuring that this historic property remains a community asset, serving future generations through education, opportunity, workforce development, and public benefit,” said William J. Clark, President and Chief Executive Officer of Saint Francis Ministries. “This transfer of stewardship is good for Saint Francis, Salina Tech, and the community of Salina.”
The public is invited to join Saint Francis Ministries, Salina Area Technical College, and members of the St. John's Military School Historical Museum as the agreement is signed, marking a new chapter for both organizations and the Salina community.
Saint Francis Ministries will maintain a significant presence in Salina and is negotiating real estate deals for office space.
St. John's Military School Historical Museum Inc. will maintain possession of its historical museum in north Salina as well.
