The Saline County Sheriff's Office is investigating the theft of a light tower that was sitting near Interstate 70 (I-70).

Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan said this morning that sometime between early Wednesday morning and 10:11 a.m. that day, someone stole a rented light tower that was illuminating a sign for President Trump along I-70 near milepost 258 northeast of Salina. The tower, belonging to United Rental in McPherson, was valued at $10,000, he said.

The white Genie light tower was later found in a field in Dickinson County, Soldan said.

Soldan asked anyone with knowledge about this incident or who may have seen a light tower being transported Wednesday to call the Saline County Sheriff's Office at (785) 826-6500.
