A Salina woman was arrested in a case involving a registration sticker that didn't belong on the license plate it was on, a license plate that didn't belong on the car it was on, and a car that was stolen.

A Saline County Sheriff's deputy was on patrol at 11 p.m. Thursday when he saw a 2011 Buick Lucerne roll through a stop sign at the intersection of N. Santa Fe Avenue and Pacific Avenue, Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan said this morning.

When the deputy ran the plate, it came back with a status of removed/expired from Hutchinson. It had been, however, registered to a car similar to the one it currently was on, Soldan said.

Although expired, the tag had a current registration sticker that had been stolen from another license plate in Hutchinson, he said.

Additionally, the Lucerne had been stolen from Hutchinson, he added.

The deputy stopped the car and made contact with the driver, identified as Mary Willems, 25, of Salina, who, it was found, had an active warrant out of Dickinson County.

Soldan said that in addition to the warrant, Willems was arrested on the following requested charges.

●Possession of stolen property

●Illegal registration

●No license

●Disobeying a traffic control device

Additionally, a passenger in the car, Randy Dent, 52, of Salina, was cited for transporting an open container, Soldan said.
