Sacred Heart’s boys entered Friday night’s game against Belle Plaine as heavy favorites, and had no trouble dispatching the 16-seed as they breezed to a 78-29 victory.

This game was predictably lopsided from the jump, as the Knights scored 21 points in the first quarter to hold an early 21-8 advantage.
In the second, Sacred Heart doubled down and ramped up their defense, holding Belle Plaine to just two points and stretching their lead to 37 at halftime.
In the third, the Knights erased any remaining doubts, rattling off 27 points to secure running clock, and take a 78-24 lead into the fourth before finishing off the 78-29 win.
Sacred Heart was ruthlessly efficient on both ends, shooting 51% from the floor, forcing 21 turnovers, and snagging 14 offensive boards.
Will Tuttle led the way for the Knights, scoring 27 points in the win, backed up by strong performances from Dom Matteucci (13) and Maddox Wells (13).
Oliver Holloway (9), and Lane Osgood (7) led the charge for the Dragons.
Belle Plaine’s season draws to a close at 0-21 while the Knights improve to 21-2, securing their spot in the second round where they’ll host Bennington on Wednesday.
