At approximately 6:30 a.m. on August 6, a traffic wreck occurred at milepost 17 on K-140 Highway in Saline County, about 1.25 miles west of Brookville Road. 

According to Saline County Undersheriff Brent Melander, the wreck involved a 2016 RAM 2500 Crew Cab pickup truck driven by a 38-year-old male from Salina.

"The vehicle was westbound on K-140 where he allegedly swerved to miss a small animal on the road and lost control," Melander said. "The vehicle went into the south ditch and impacted with the ditch and driveway embankments."

Melander noted that the car did not roll but did make a significant impact with the driveway.

The driver sustained various non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a Salina Regional Health Center or examination and treatment. 

No citations were issued in connection with the wreck.
