Dale Maurice Hess, 85, of Salina, passed away Thursday, June 9th, 2022.
Dale was born in Denver, Colorado on August 5, 1936, a son of the late Mildred (Brooks) and Lester Hess.
He grew up in Clyde, Kansas, attended Joines one room schoolhouse and graduated from Clyde High School.
Dale was baptized as a teenager and attended New Community Christian Church in Salina.
He served his country in the United States Army from 1959 - 1962.
On December 28, 1961, Dale married Irene Dowell. To this union were born Debora, Roger, and Stephanie.
Most of his life, he was a truck driver for Western Auto distribution center. He enjoyed watching on TV. His kids shared his love of NASCAR. Roger and Dale attended races at Texas Motor Speedway and Talladega Super Speedway. Deb and Dale spent several weekends at Kansas Speedway.
Survivors include his wife Irene Hess; two daughters, Debora Hess of Topeka, Kansas, Stephanie Bowden (Lucas) of Troy, Ohio; and son Roger Hess (Roxie) of Bixby, Oklahoma.
Dale is also survived by grandchildren Rylan Hess (Kelsey), Rylee Ainge (Kyle), Ryker Hess (Macy), Reed Bowden, Beau Bowden, Cole Bowden, Jett Bowden; ONE great grandchild on the way; many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his sister Marlene Dyson and brother Don Hess.
Cremation has been chosen.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
