Vehicle burglary results in $6,700 in damage, loss for local company

Police are investigating a north Salina vehicle burglary that resulted in $6,700 worth of damage and loss.

Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester reported this morning that sometime between 4 p.m. Sunday and 7 a.m. Monday, someone broke into a service van belonging to Drains Plus, 701 North Santa Fe Avenue.

The right rear window of one of a 2000 Chevrolet G2500 van was broken. The subject(s) then entered the van and took two Hitachi Chipping hammer drills and bits in a carrying case, and a Milwaukee right angle drill plus spades in a hard carrying case. The total number of bits and spades is unknown, but it is estimated approximately 10 were stolen.

The total value of damage and theft is reported at $6,700, Forrester noted.
