Police are investigating a vehicle burglary in downtown Salina Tuesday afternoon.
Julie Effenbeck, 54, of Salina, reported that sometime between 1:45-5 p.m., someone broke into her 2019 Toyota Avalon while it was parked in the 100 block of South Santa Fe Avenue, according to Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester. The driver side window had an approximate eight-inch by four-inch hole in the glass.
Effenbeck reported that a Passport radar detector and some Kate Spade sunglasses were stolen, Forrester noted. Total loss, including the damage, was estimated at $1,050.
A witness who walked by the car at 1:45 p.m. reported that the window was not broken at that time.
