Trojan track takes first and fourth at Concordia Invitational

The Southeast of Saline track and field team’s continued their strong start at this year’s Concordia Invitational on Thursday, with the defending champion boy’s team winning their second of two meets, and the girl’s team placing fourth amidst the eight-team field.

The boys’ closed out their meet with 146 points, 24 clear of their next closest competitor in Marysville despite missing several of their top sprinters.

The team collected a total of six gold medals on the day, sweeping the 4x1 and 4x800m relays. Individually Nakari Morrical-Palmer put on a show with three first-place finishes of his own in the 100m dash, 400, and triple jump.

Meanwhile, it was a solid day for the girl’s team, who ended the day with 74 points, 52.5 back of the eventual winners from Beloit.

Ashley Prochazka claimed both first-place finishes on the day in the 1600 and 3200.

Here is a look at all of the Trojan and Lady Trojan podium finishers from this year’s Concordia Invitational.

Both teams will be back in action on Tuesday, April 11 for the Ellsworth Invitational at 3:30.
