BARTLESVILLE, Okla. - Kansas Wesleyan Men's Soccer faced a daunting task against No. 16 ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan on Saturday at the OKWU Soccer Pitch.
The Coyotes would go toe-to-toe with the Eagles for a majority of the match, but late goals, one in each half by OKWU would send the Eagles to the 2-0 win.
KWU held OKWU without a goal until the final minute of the first half when the Eagles would get on the board.
KWU had a couple of late tries at goal but could not put one home.
In the second half, the Coyotes again held off every challenge and push by the Eagles until late in the match.
KWU escaped giving up a penalty in the 81st minute that was missed but gave up a second goal to OKWU in the 89th minute for the 2-0 final.
OKWU outshot the Coyotes 21-7 in the match. Jose Valdez led the Coyotes with three.
