FALUN - Jack D. Spooner, 66, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home in rural Falun on Monday, December 7, 2020. He was born November 21, 1954 in Red Cloud, Neb., to Merle and Frances (Miller) Spooner.

Jack grew up in Gaylord, Kan., and after graduating from Smith Center High School, Jack married Virginia Nyberg on December 23, 1972. He joined the U.S. Navy. After serving four years, including an assignment in Sicily, Jack and Virginia made their home in Saline County. After obtaining 4 college degrees, he owned and operated his own company, Jack Spooner Plumbing, Heating and A.C. for over 20 years. Jack was a hardworking man with an ornery sense of humor.

Survivors include his wife of over 47 years, Virginia; sons, Shawn (Amber), Beaverton, Ore., and Matthew (Sarah), Lindsborg; grandson, Elijah; and sister, LeAnn Bagby (Steve). He also leaves behind several extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Johnny.

No services are planned at this time.
