A 16-year old boy was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center in Junction City, KS after attacking a Salina man with a broken piece of a dish plate several times.
According to Police Captain James Feldman on Sunday, a 48-year old man and a 16-year old boy got into an argument at a home in the 2300 block of Quincy. As the argument boiled, the boy grabbed a plate, broke a piece of it and threatened the man that he was going to attack him with it.
A 44-year old woman was at the house as well and the boy decided to throw the rest of the plate at her, but she evaded it. Furthermore, the boy then attacked the 48-year old man with the broken piece and cut him several times on his body.
Salina police received report about the incident and arrived to the scene. Upon arrival, officers came in contact with all three residents at the house.
Officers then arrested the boy without incident and was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center in Junction City. He was charged with aggravated assault and battery.
The 48-year old man did not need any medical treatment.
It was not determined whether the three residents were acquainted.
