OKLAHOMA CITY - The Fort Hays State women's basketball team rose two spots to fifth in the latest release of the D2SIDA Media Poll, released Tuesday by the organization.

After appearing in the D2SIDA top 25 for the first time in 25th on Feb. 2, Fort Hays State has moved up in the polls in each subsequent release. The Tigers were 14th on Feb. 9, 12th on Feb. 16 and seventh on Feb. 23 before reaching the top five this week.

Central Missouri is the only other MIAA school listed in the media poll this week, coming in 13th.

The Tigers, also ranked fifth in this week's WBCA DII Coaches Poll, will open the postseason at home on Wednesday when they host Missouri Southern in the quarterfinals of the 2021 MIAA Championship Tournament, presented by Citizens Bank & Trust. First tip is set for 6 p.m. inside Gross Memorial Coliseum.
