For the first time since 2009, the Sacred Heart girls basketball team is state-bound following a 59-34 decimation of Conway Springs on Friday night.

The Lady Knights used a slew of forced turnovers, a hail of threes, and electric performances from Addie Lee and Skylar Douglas to put the Lady Cardinals away and secure their spot in the 2A dance.
Conway Springs delivered the first punch in this heavyweight bout, taking an early six-point lead in the first quarter, but Sacred Heart quickly erased that advantage to hold a 19-14 edge at the end of the frame.
In the second, the Lady Knights tightened the screws defensively, holding the Cards to just two made field goals and eight total points to push the lead to eleven.
Out of the break, Sacred Heart erased any remaining doubts, rattling off a massive run to take a 28-point lead and never looking back, coasting over the finish line with a comfortable 59-34 victory.
Turnovers played a huge role in this game, with the Lady Knights forcing Conway Springs into 20 turnovers while committing just eight themselves.
Addie Lee had a monster game, scoring 24 points in the first three quarters alone.
Skylar Douglas was excellent in support, adding 17 in the win for the Lady Knights.
Macie Hartman led the way for the Lady Cardinals, finishing the night with nine points.
The Lady Knights, now 21-4, will join Ellinwood (24-1), Moundridge (23-2), St. Maryโs Colgan (23-2), Eureka (22-2), Oakley (22-4), Valley Heights (19-7), and Rossville (14-10) at state.
