Tampa - Paul H. Backhus, 88, passed away December 8, 2021 at Hillsboro Community Hospital in Hillsboro.
He was born August 8, 1933, rural Tampa, to William and Martha (Meyer) Backhus.
He married Edna Rhode January 25, 1953 in Tampa.
Survivors include: wife Edna Backhus of Tampa; son Brad Backhus of Tampa; daughterBev Reid of Marion County Lake; sisters Ruth Taylor, Alice Yoachum, Lydia Evans; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by brothers Vic Backhus, Alvin Backhus, Martin Backhus; sisters Emma Paulson, Mildred Bernhardt.
Funeral service 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 13, 2021 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Tampa officiated by Rev. Clark M. Davis. Family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Interment at Tampa Lutheran cemetery of Tampa.
