Three juveniles were arrested for reportedly setting a mattress on fire at St. Francis Ministries.
According to the Saline County Sheriff's Office on April 10 at 7:26 pm, Deputies were dispatched to the St. Francis Ministries 5097 W. Cloud location, in reference to a fire that was started by juvenile residents.
Reportedly, there was not an active fire, and deputies found a mattress that was on fire and extinguished by St. Francis staff.
During the investigation, it was determined three-juvenile females, all 14 years of age, had stolen a lighter from staff and ignited the mattress on fire.
Smoke alarms alerted staff who were able to extinguish the fire with water bottles.
Damage to the mattress and box spring is estimated at $800.
Additionally, the juveniles also poured water on an electrical outlet in attempt to spark an electrical outlet on fire.
However that was unsuccessful, and caused additional damage estimated at $50.

The juveniles requested charges included:
- Juvenile 1; Aggravated Arson Conspiracy to Commit Aggravated Arson; Interference with a Law Enforcement Officer (kicking Deputies during arrest) and Theft.
- Juvenile 2; Aggravated Arson; Conspiracy to Commit Aggravated Arson
- Juvenile 3; Aggravated Arson; Conspiracy to Commit Aggravated Arson
All three juveniles were arrested and were transported to the Juvenile Detention Center in Junction City.
