League of Women Voters
State and local candidates on the Nov. 3 ballot for Salina residents have been invited to a candidate forum planned this weekend by the Salina League of Women Voters.
Salina League of Women Voters President Cori Sherman North said the forum begins at 2 p.m.Sunday, Sept. 27 in the auditorium of Salina Area Technical College, 2562 S. Centennial Rd., Salina.
North said 32 candidates were invited. If they do not attend, candidates can send a written statement that will be read at the event.
The forum will be moderated by league members. Newspaper reporter Charlie Rankin and former Kansas Senate member Randall Hardy will ask questions followed by audience questions.
Salina Tech students will help with this event, which is free and open to the public.The league has assembled a booklet with questions and candidate information. It will be available on the league’s website at www.lwvsalina.org
