Corrine Grace (Calvin) Edwards, 82, of Salina, passed away Friday, June 12, 2020 at Salina Regional Health Center. Corrine was born in El Dorado, Kansas, on October 31, 1937 to Howard and Delpha (Woltz) Calvin of Latham, Kansas.
The youngest of nine siblings, Corrine grew up in Latham and after high school graduation attended the American Business College in Wichita. Corrine’s first job was at the State of Kansas Employment Office in Wichita where she met her future husband, Lynn Edwards of Clyde, Kansas. She and Lynn were married September 9, 1956 in Latham. They lived in Wichita for two years before moving to Salina in 1958. She was preceded in death by her husband Lynn, two brothers and three sisters.
Corrine was a secretary for 21 years during her working career. She did volunteer work at the hospital, for the Red Cross and her and Lynn were volunteers for Meals on Wheels. Corrine enjoyed spending time with her children and seeing her grandchildren play sports. She enjoyed singing with the Silvertones Chorus and was a member of the Ray Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son Jay (Elaine) Edwards of Salina, daughter Lorie Edwards of Wichita; grandchildren Allison (fiancé Ryan Dumas) Edwards of Salina, Michael (Erica) Edwards of Wichita and great-grandchild Halle Edwards. Also surviving is sister; Doris Keller of Irving, Texas; brothers; Neal (Mickie) Calvin of Wichita, Wayne Calvin of Latham; sister-in-law, Margaret LeDuc of Clyde and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at the Ray Avenue Baptist Church. Family will receive visitors at 10:30 am. Burial at Gypsum Hill Cemetery.
