Beginning Monday, the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) will begin pavement patching on northbound and southbound U.S. 81 in Ottawa County.
Work will occur between the bridge over Lindsey Creek at mile marker 168 and continue approximately nine miles north to the Rifle Road intersection.
Construction will occur during daylight hours and traffic will be reduced to one 16-foot lane through the work zone at a reduced speed. Drivers should expect minor delays, not exceeding five minutes.
The prime contractor for this $749,000 project is Bryant and Bryant of Halstead. The contractor has scheduled this project to be completed by November, weather permitting.
KDOT urges all motorists to be alert and obey the warning signs when approaching and driving through a work zone. For more information and to stay aware of all road construction projects across Kansas go to www.kandrive.org or call 5-1-1.
