Dennis D. Mathews Sr., 73, of Salina, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2020. He was born March 31, 1947 in Salina, to Dayle G. and Betty J. (Hoffman) Mathews. He graduated from Salina High in 1966 and served in the Army for 3 years and Vietnam for 1 year. After 32 years of working at Hawker Beechcraft, he retired in 2009.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Shirley Mathews; grandparents, Jesse R. Mathews and Aunt Effie, Harry and Sarah Irene Hoffman.

He is survived by his wife Janice (Hogg) Mathews, of the home; sons, Dennis Mathews Jr., and Cory Mathews, both of Salina, Grant Mathews, of Great Bend; sister, Deby Muller (Steve, of Salina; two nieces; two nephews; seven grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 13, 2020 in Hall Cemetery, 1937 N 160th Road, Delphos, Kansas. Military honors will be provided by VFW Post 1432, Salina.

Memorials may be made to Minneapolis Healthcare and Rehabilitation or VFW Post 1432, in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 North Eighth Street, Salina, Kansas 67401.
