A Brookville man was arrested after leading a Saline County Sheriff's deputy on a chase through the western part of the county late Wednesday night.
Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan said this morning that a deputy shooting radar clocked an eastbound white 2005 Chevrolet Malibu driving 82 mph in a 55 mph zone near the intersection of Kansas Highway 140 (K-140) and Muir Road at 11:05 p.m. When the deputy began pursuit, the Malibu took the following route, Soldan said.

While deputies were searching for the driver, the owner of another vehicle -- a red 1984 Pontiac Firebird -- reported that it was stolen in the 300 block of Anderson Street and was eastbound on K-140, he said.
As deputies caught up to the Firebird, it turned south on Muir Road and then onto Cloud Street, where it came to a stop at 11:35 p.m. Wednesday, Soldan said.
