Clifford H. McGee

Clifford H. McGee, 71 died May 28, 2020 Kansas City, KS.  He was born on July 25, 1948 in Clay Center, KS, the son of Clifford L. and Sybil (Gains) McGee.  Clifford was raised in Clay Center and was a graduate of CCCHS Class or 1967.  He earned bachelor’s degrees in journalism, 1983, and social work, 1993 from Wichita State University.  Clifford worked at the Wichita Eagle newspaper as a writer covering hunting, fishing and outdoors stories.  His articles were also published in the LA Times, Denver Post and several magazines.  Clifford cared for and house broke an orphaned pigeon which led to his hobby of raising and racing pigeons.  He was a member of the Clay Center Wesleyan Church and a former member of the Jaycees, both of Clay Center.   He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sharon McGee.

Funeral Services: Friday, June 5, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Clay Center Wesleyan Church

Minister: Pastor Rob Stewart

Burial: Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, Kansas

Visitation: Thursday, June 4, 2020 from 3-8 PM at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home
