A Wichita mas was injured during a single vehicle accident on Interstate 135 (I-135) Thursday morning.

Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan said this morning that first responders were dispatched to milepost 78 on I-135 near Bridgeport at 10:19 a.m. Thursday. Once there, they found a white 2018 International box truck with the driver unconscious, he said.

According to Soldan, the truck had been northbound on I-135 when for some unknown reason, it crossed the median, went off the west side of the highway, through a ditch, across Kansas Highway 4, and across a dirt road, before coming to rest at the edge of a field.

The driver, Cage Dean, 22, of Wichita, was unconscious at the scene and was transported to Salina Regional Health Center, Soldan said.

An 18-year-old passenger, who was asleep at the time of the accident, was not injured, he added.

The truck, which was filled with furniture, televisions, toilets, and other household items, was towed from the scene, Soldan said. The truck was leased out of Tulsa, Okla., to King's Moving and Storage in Wichita, he said.
