Betty J. Dyck

Betty J. Dyck, 89, Minneapolis, died Monday, May 25, 2020 at the Salina Regional Health Center.  She was born September 8, 1930 in Ramona to Alex and Leah (Riffel) Brunner.  Betty was proud of her brother’s, husband’s, and many friends service in the military.  It was fitting her last day was on Memorial Day.

Betty was a 1948 graduate of Hope High School and she then attended Emporia State where she obtained her teaching certificate.  She and John R. Dyck were united in marriage on July 13, 1952.  They moved to Minneapolis where they made their home since 1967.  Betty worked as a teacher for a little over six years and she sold Avon for 39 years.  Her biggest job and love were being a caregiver for her parents, husband, children.  Betty was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Salina, V.F.W. Auxiliary Post #3201, and the Extension Homemakers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John in 2013; brother, Kenneth; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia (Fred); brother and sister-in-law, Lauren (Orvell); and John’s sister and brother-in-law, Annie (Melvin) Webb.

Survivors are her children, Barbara (Glen) Roths, Sonia (Brad) Cooper, and Jerry (Gina) Dyck; grandchildren, Crystal (Keith) Lamb, Holly Cooper, Christian Dyck, and Elise Dyck; great-granddaughter, Cooper Lamb; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, private family graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 30 at the Lewis Cemetery, Ramona.  Friends may call from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. Friday at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis.  Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Hour, or the Golden Wheel Senior Center and may be mailed to Wilson Family Funeral Home, P.O.
