EXPIRED: NWS issues flash flood warning for parts of Saline, Ellsworth, Lincoln counties

A flash flood warning has been issued for counties in our area.

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Wichita has issued a flash flood warning effective until 2:45 a.m. Monday for the following counties in our area.

Southern Lincoln County

Northern Ellsworth County

Northern Saline County

At 10:49 p.m. CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

Multiple streets in Salina are flooding.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.

Additionally, a flash flood warning remains in effect for southwestern Ottawa County until 1:30 a.m. Monday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Topeka.

At 9:51 p.m. CDT, trained weather spotters reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain in Culver where the streets are under water. Up to three inches of rain have already fallen.
