KANOPOLIS LAKE -- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has halted vehicle access to Venango Park due to a variety of issues.

Vehicle access to the park was halted "due to a rise in vandalism, theft, littering, and disregard for the CDC's recommended social distancing practices during the COVID-19 facility closure," according to a post on the Kanopolis Reservoir - US Army Corps of Engineers Facebook page.

The Venango boat ramp, however, remains accessible by vehicle.

The post noted that "numerous issues over the last few weeks have prompted this change."
