Following is the Saline County COVID-19 update for Wednesday.
The Saline County Health Department has an additional positive case of COVID-19 that was reported today:
• Male in his 30’s with no known close contacts who is isolated at home.
A mobile testing site will be in Salina on Friday, May 1st and Saturday May 2nd. This is a collaborative effort between eTrueNorth, Walmart, and State & Local officials. To be tested individuals MUST:
• Have a scheduled appointment trough eTrueNorth by visiting www.DoINeedaCOVID19test.com or by calling 1-800-635-8611
• They will only test those that meet criteria.
• Testing will take place in the lower parking lot at the Kansas Highway Patrol located at 2025 E. Iron from 10am to 3pm. Again, you must have an appointment.
Governor Kelly will be announcing her plans for re-opening after the Statewide Stay-at-Home order. This announcement is planned for 6:30pm on Thursday, April 30th. Governor Kelly’s plan is anticipated to outline more information on mass gatherings and business re-openings.
At 11 am, KDHE reported the following in their daily release:
• A total of 3,738 positive cases and 125 deaths. That is an increase of 247 positive cases from yesterday’s release.
• 25,720 negative tests have been received through the KDHE and private labs.
• The age range is 0 years to 99 years (median 46 years of age).
Saline County residents are encouraged to help the community and our health care system flatten the curve and slow the spread of coronavirus. You can do this by:
• Following the Statewide Stay-at-Home Order which remains in effect until May 3rd.
• Covering all coughs and sneezes.
• Washing your hands for 20 seconds with soap and water.
• Wearing cloth face coverings or homemade masks when in public.
