
EL PASO, Texas -- A former Salina man who was seriously wounded during a mass shooting at an El Paso, Texas, Walmart in August has died.
Guillermo "Memo" Garcia died Saturday at the Del Sol Medical Center in El Paso. He was the 23rd person to die as a result of the mass shooting.
Garcia and his wife, Jessica Coca Garcia, were both wounded Aug. 3 when a gunman opened fire at the Walmart. They were at the location to raise funds for their child's soccer team.
According to police, 21-year-old Patrick Crusius confessed to the shootings and said that he was targeting Mexicans.
