Police are investigating the theft of items from another storage unit in southwest Salina.
Sometime between 10:45 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. on Thursday, someone stole items from a unit at City Wide Self Storage, 2435 Centennial Road, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning.
A 55-year-old Salina man reported to police that he had been at his storage unit at approximtely 10:45 a.m. Thursday, but had to leave abruptly. When he returned at approximately 3:15 p.m., he found a different lock on his storage unit. The lock, however, did not have a locking mechanism, but appeared on the outside to be a functioning lock, Forrester explained.
Items reported missing include the following, Forrester noted.
A black with green lettering Trek bike, valued at $3,000
Several silver spoons of unknown value
Candlewood stereo equipment valued at $100
A bucket of miscellaneous tools valued at $50
According to Forrester, surveillance video is being reviewed.
