CLAY CENTER -- Clay County Health Department is reporting an additional case of COVID-19 in the county.
"The case involves a patient that is hospitalized in Manhattan. The Clay County Health Department is working to identify all close contacts of this individual and those who were exposed are being contacted. We will provide quarantine instruction to these case contacts to monitor for symptoms of COVID-19, to include fever and respiratory symptoms," the Clay County Health Department noted in a news release.
This is Clay County’s third positive case of COVID-19. The first case is fully recovered from the disease and was released from isolation restrictions on March 29, the release noted. All of that individual’s close contacts completed the required quarantine, none developed symptoms of the disease. The second positive case in Clay County was hospitalized and that person's contacts remain in quarantine, according to the release.
