BAVARIA -- A wheel loader fell victim to a fire north of Bavaria Wednesday afternoon.
Deputies and firefighters from Rural Fire District No. 3 responded to the fire at 7032 West Cloud Street at 2:12 p.m., Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan said this morning.
A fuel leak is believed to have caused the New Holland wheel loader owned by James Komarek to burn, Soldan said. The wheel loader was being driven when it suddenly was ablaze, he said. No injuries were reported.
Total loss was estimated at $35,000, Soldan said.
