Temporary closing of Municipal Court on city agenda

A proclamation, an amendment, bonds, Municipal Court, and police vehicles are among the items on the Salina City Commission for Monday.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. Monday. City Commission meetings will take place via telephone conference until further notice because of the COVID-19 pandemic. You can view the meetings on Salina Media Connection, either via Cox Cable Channel 20 or online at www.salinatv.org or at the City of Salina YouTube channel

If you wish to speak, either during the public forum or when the Mayor requests public comment on an item, you MUST dial *9 on your phone. This will alert the moderator, who will open your line.

Commissioners are scheduled to consider a request to proclaim May 7, 2020, as "Day of Prayer" in the city. The proclamation is tied to the 69th annual National Day of Prayer that is scheduled for May 7.

Other items on the city agenda include the following.

•Follow-up financial discussion.

•Consider Resolution No. 20-7827 amending the 2020-2024 Capital Improvement Program and giving the city manager the authority to reduce part-time salary expenditures, as available.

•Discussion relating to personnel matters.

•Authorize sale of General Obligation Internal Improvement Bonds Series 2020-A, and Temporary Notes Series 2020-1.

-Receive report on bids received.

-Consider a second reading of Ordinance No. 20-11029 authorizing the issuance and delivery of General Obligation Internal Improvement Bonds, Series 2020-A.

-Consider Resolution No. 20-7816 prescribing the form and details of and authorizing the delivery of General Obligation Internal Improvement Bonds, Series 2020-A.

-Consider Resolution No. 20-7817 authorizing and directing the sale and delivery of General Obligation Temporary Notes, Series 2020-1.

• Consider Resolution No. 20-7826 temporarily closing the Municipal Court of the City of Salina until further order of the Municipal Court Judge.

•Consider authorizing the purchase of four police vehicles as approved in the 2020 Sub-CIP budget.
