We're in for a mix of weather the next few days.

After below-freezing overnight temperatures over much of the area, we'll see increasing clouds and highs around 60 today.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Wichita, there is a slight chance of thunderstorms tonight, but no strong or severe storms are expected with this activity.

Additionally, there is a chance for thunderstorms Saturday afternoon through Saturday night. A few of these storms could be strong to severe with dime to quarter size hail and 60 mph winds as the main threats, NWS noted.

Some wintry precipitation will be possible Sunday for areas generally along and north of Interstate 70. Windy conditions are also expected during the day on Sunday. Sustained speeds as high as 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph will be possible.

An unseasonably cold airmass is expected to overspread the region for Sunday night through Wednesday morning. According to NWS, temperatures will drop into the 20s area-wide on Sunday night into early Monday morning and will only be a couple of degrees warmer on Monday night into Tuesday morning. Mid- to upper-20 temperatures will be possible again early Wednesday morning across central Kansas.
