Police are investigating the theft of $2,100 worth of tools from a southwest Salina garage.

Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester reported this morning that sometime between 10 p.m. on Monday and 8 a.m. on Tuesday, someone broke into the detatched garage of a rental property in the 700 block of Garden Avenue and stole the following items.

A Milwaukee router valued at $330

A Craftsman air compressor valued at $170

An airless sprayer valued at $400

A Bands framing nailer valued at $200

A Milwaukee TE6 hammer drill valued at $500

A drill press valued at $500

The owner of the property had been using the detatched garage for storage and was notified by his tenant on Tuesday that it appeared that someone had broken into the garage, Forrester noted. The metal latch had been pulled from the door and some broken pieces of wood were on the ground, he added. The tenant said the garage was not damaged when she went to bed the night before.
