Police looking for suspect in Sunday car damage case

Police are looking for a subject who caused $2,000 worth of damage to a car in southwest Salina early Sunday.

A 30-year-old Salina woman reported that around 1 a.m. Sunday, she heard a banging noise outside her residence, and when she looked outside, she saw that her 2017 Ford Fusion had been damaged, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester reported this morning.

According to Forrester, the woman reviewed her security video and saw an unidentified white male smash her windshield, back window and driver's side window. Additionally, there were an approximate one-inch scratch and an approximate four-inch scratch on the driver's side front door, he added. Total damage was estimated at $2,000.

The video shows the subject using a blunt object to cause the damage, Forrester reported.
