
Local attorney Jeffery Ebel has announced that he is running for county attorney in the upcoming 2020 election.
Ebel is registered as a Republican and has officially filed with the Saline County Clerk’s Office as of Friday, he noted in a news release.
Ebel has been a practicing attorney since his admission to the bar for the State of Kansas since September 26, 2003. He is currently the owner of The Ebel Law Office, LLC, located at 207 West Ash Street in Salina. He has been in private practice for approximately seven years, handling mainly criminal defense, child in need of care, and family law cases. Prior to that, he served as an assistant Saline County attorney for more than eight years. He also worked for Kansas Legal Services as a staff attorney.
Ebel graduated from Washburn School of Law in May of 2003, where he graduated with Dean’s Honors. His undergraduate degree is also from Washburn University with a degree of a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice, with the distinction of Magna Cum Laude, with dual majors of law enforcement and corrections. After graduating college, Ebel worked for both the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, as corrections officer, and a police officer with the Salina Police Department.
Ebel is married to wife, Dena, who is a local school teacher. They have three children.
