ABILENE -- Employees of Memorial Health System (MHS) recently wore blue jeans at work for a Jeans Day fundraiser.

Employees who made a donation of at least $5 were allowed to wear blue jeans on the last Friday of March. A total donation of $217 was presented to the Community Baby Shower.

The annual Community Baby Shower has been postponed until a later date. The event, organized by the Dickinson County Health Department, invites all Dickinson County women who are pregnant and new moms (up to four months postpartum) to attend. Information is available about community resources, plus, there are gifts, raffles, prizes, and more. Memorial Hospital’s Birthing Center is a participant in the Community Baby Shower and offers free baby diapers, and Heartland Health Care Clinic offers free baby wipes to those in attendance, while supplies last.

The MHS Jeans Day was organized by the MHS Employer of Choice (EOC) committee.
