NWS in Wichita has issued a winter weather advisory in effect from midnight to 8 a.m. Friday for the following counties in our area.

McPherson County
Saline County
Freezing drizzle and light freezing rain are expected. Total ice accumulations up to one tenth of an inch on elevated surfaces are expected, with winds gusting as high as 30 mph.
Slick and icy roads are possible. Light ice accumulations are expected on elevated surfaces. The hazardous conditions could impact the early morning commute. Slow down and use caution while traveling.
Republic County
Freezing rain is expected, with total ice accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch.
Slippery spots are possible on bridges and overpasses, which could cause hazardous conditions for the morning commute. Grassy areas likely will receive little or no accumulation. Slow down and use caution while traveling. Prepare for possible power outages.
