Following is Saline County's COVID-19 update for Tuesday.
The COVID-19 virus outbreak is an evolving situation across Saline County, Kansas, the United States, and the World. Our local government leaders continue to work hard and make difficult decisions as it relates to the best interests of the health and safety of our citizens and employees.
Saline County has no additional positive cases of COVID-19 to report as of 5 pm March 31st, 2020.
Governor Kelly will be doing daily press briefings at 2 pm Monday – Friday. Live broadcasts can be seen on her Facebook page and through several media outlets. Dr. Norman from KDHE will be joining her press briefings on Monday’s, Wednesday’s, and Fridays.
The Statewide Stay-at-Home Order is in effect. This order outlines essential businesses and activities. Businesses that have questions regarding the determination of essential need to email:

The State of Kansas is working closely with our local entities to communicate and best determine essential business functions under the Governor’s orders. Several common questions and answers is listed on their website.
Announcements:
• KDHE issued a press release today alerting people who attended the Kansas East Jurisdiction’s 2020 Ministers and Workers Conference in Kansas City from March 16-22, may have been exposed to COVID-19. Their press release is attached to our release.
• Governor Kelly has issued Executive Order 20-17 regarding unemployment benefits. Her order will expand these benefits making them eligible to those who may not have been able to qualify before. Kansans’ were urged to utilize their online form at www.getkansasbenefits.gov .
• Sheriff Roger Soldan issued a press release today announcing that “For the safety of inmates, staff and public the lobbies at the Sheriff’s Office and Jail will be closed during the Statewide Stay-at-Home order.
