Two small quakes shake parts of Saline, Dickinson counties

Two small earthquakes rattled parts of Saline and Dickinson counties Saturday.

The first was a 2.4 magnitude quake that was centered just southeast of the intersection of 800 Avenue and Sage Road in Dickinson County, according to the Kansas Geological Survey (KGS). The quake was recorded at 4:32 a.m. Saturday.

The second was a 2.7 magnitude quake that was centered southeast of Salina between South Holmes Road and South Simpson Road on the west and east and East Water Well Road and East Farrelly Road on the north and south. The quake was recorded just a few seconds before 5:06 p.m. Saturday
