UPDATE: U.S. 81 mill and overlay begins Monday in Cloud County

UPDATE: This project was rescheduled to begin today, according to KDOT.

CLOUD COUNTY -- On Monday, the Kansas Department of Transportation will begin a mill and overlay project on U.S. Highway 81, beginning at the Cloud/Ottawa county line and continuing north for approximately three miles.

Traffic will be reduced to one 12-foot lane with a reduced speed through the work zone. Drivers should expect minor delays, not exceeding five minutes.

APAC Inc. of Hutchinson is the prime contractor and has scheduled this project to be completed in May 2020, weather permitting, at a cost of $735,000.

KDOT urges all motorists to be alert and obey the warning signs when approach and driving through a highway work zone.  To stay aware of all road construction projects across Kansas go to www.kandrive.org or call 5-1-1.
