Three teens were injured in a single-vehicle accident Thursday evening east of Salina.
Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan said this morning that at 6:15 p.m Thursday, emergency personnel were dispatched to the intersection of Country Club Road and Woodward Road for the report of a single-vehicle accident. A 2002 Ford Taurus stationwagon driven by Kylah Pittenger, 17, of Salina, was traveling too fast and missed the turn south onto Woodward Road from eastbound Country Club Road, Soldan said. The car went into the ditch and struck an AT&T utility box, he said.
Pittenger and two passengers, a 13-year-old boy and 14-year-old boy, were transported by EMS to Salina Regional Health Center with non-life-threatening injuries, Soldan said. Two other passengers, two 14-year-old boys, were not injured, he said.
The car sustained front end and right side damage, he said.
