Hearings in Salina Municipal Court to be rescheduled

Salina Municipal Court is responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Following is a release from the City of Salina.

Beginning Monday, all hearings in Salina Municipal Court will be rescheduled. Notice will be sent from the Court to advise the involved persons of a new hearing date for their case. This action is being taken to align with the following:

•The President’s Coronavirus Guidelines for America: 15 Days to Slow the Spread, which began on March 16 and involves avoiding gatherings of 10 or more people for a 15 day period.

•The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s guidance for the next eight weeks, which recommends that organizers (whether groups or individuals) cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 50 people or more throughout the United States.

•Governor Kelly’s Executive Order NO. 20-04 effective through May 1 on social distancing to help slow the spread of COVID-19 in Kansas.

There are already several options available to make payments on a Municipal

Court citation or case. Information about payment options can be found on the Municipal Court’s page on the City of Salina website at www.salinaks.gov/fine or by calling (844) 546-9369. If you have questions or need assistance, you may contact the Municipal Court clerk’s office at (785) 826-7230.

Probation appointments will continue as scheduled; however, we ask that anyone experiencing symptoms of fever, cough, and/or shortness of breath please contact the Salina Municipal Court to have your appointment rescheduled.
