Police are investigating the theft of guns, a computer monitor, and a pickup earlier in March in southwest Salina.
Sometime between March 2 and Friday, someone broke into a residence in the 1300 block of Hartford while the person who lived there was out of town, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said today. A person checking the property on Friday found the back door damaged and standing open, he said.
The residence appeared to ransacked, Forrester said. Items stolen include the following, he said.
A 9mm Springfield XDE handgun valued at $400
A 22 caliber Marlin rifle valued at $200
A 20-inch Vizio computer monitor valued at $120
A 2011 White Ford Ranger pickup -- with Kansas license plate of 942 MKN -- valued at $13,000
Damage to the door was estimated at $300, Forrester said.
