James L. Long, 74, Bennington, died Thursday, March 12, 2020 at the Salina Regional Health Center.&nbsp; Jim was born August 10, 1945 in Topeka to Lafayette and Ethel (Morgan) Long.

Jim and Saundra Welch were united in marriage on June 13, 1964.&nbsp; He worked as a machinist for Union Pacific Railroad for 35 years.&nbsp; Jim was also a longtime member of the United Church of Bennington.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather; and half-brother, Robert Lester.

Survivors are his wife of 55 years, Saundra; sons, Gary (Catherine) and Greg; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Memorial services will be at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 18 at the United Church of Bennington.&nbsp; Memorials may be made to the church.
